There are different varieties that can meet the needs of fruit size, skin color and thickness, grain color, soft core and juiciness. In addition, table and industrial varieties are different. Major buyer countries are Germany, Austria, United Arab Emirates, Belgium and Denmark. While Arab countries prefer sweet varieties, European countries prefer sweet and tart varieties with red fruit rind. The Hijaz variety is dominant in export (to EU countries). Pomegranate can be stored for 4-6 months under various conditions due to the special structure of the fruit peel. Pomegranate is also used industrially. Time to market: July-November. The stored products are put on the market until February and can be exported.
